Inspired by the Wolof people of the Gambia, Senegal and Mali. Especially the artist’s girlfriend’s heritage had a big impact on the afrocentricism of his works, which led to this vibrant painting made with acrylics and metal leaf.
Made mainly with a palett knife the expressionistic strokes depict the dancer’s movements. The background is an abstract sunset.
